Polar Systems is now an official authorized agent for DellEMC for the State of Oregon.  Dell’s Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) Technology Solutions Contract is a competitively sourced full catalog contract and offers Dell’s total line of available hardware, software, services, and 3rd party products. The contract allows for separate software licensing (i.e., click through, etc.).

Through a sister compact with WICHE (Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education), this competitively bid contract is available to all State of Oregon state agencies, cities, counties, local subdivisions, higher education institutions (public and private not-for-profit), K-12 districts and schools and non-profit organizations (education-related only).

MHEC Eligibility:

MHECtech purchasing power is available to a wide variety of entities within our member states, including:

» Cities, Counties, Local Subdivisions

» Non-MHEC States

MHEC contracts provide significant savings in the technology area. We are careful to only enter into contracts where we can provide institutions in our member states with discounts they are unlikely to receive in any other arena. We monitor every contract on an annual basis to ensure that vendor offerings are kept current and that new features are added as the market demands. Are you from outside the Midwest? The Midwestern Higher Education Compact has agreements in place with our sister compacts from the New England Board of Higher Education, Southern Regional Education Board, and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education to allow entities from those regions to purchase from MHEC contracts.

Whereas, MHEC conducted a competitive sourcing event for Network Hardware and Related Services in April 2014 and upon completion of the competitive process awarded to Dell: Category 1: Network Equipment; and Category 2: Wireless Equipment; and

Whereas, MHEC conducted a competitive sourcing event for Computing Hardware and Related Services in August 2014 and upon completion of the competitive process awarded to Dell: Category 1: Desktop Hardware; Category 2: Laptop Hardware; Category 3: Tablet Devices; and Category 4: Server and Storage Hardware

As a public entity can I purchase Dell product from Polar Systems under MHEC?

How is Oregon Eligible under WICHE?

The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) member states are Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota*, Oregon, South Dakota*, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. *The Dakotas are members of both compacts – MHEC and WICHE.
